Privacy

DAR Talks collects as little personal data as possible, and only what you choose to give us. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not use third-party analytics that profile you. This page explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

Who we are

DAR Talks is the data controller for the information described here. For any question about your data, or to exercise the rights below, write to [email protected].

What we collect, and why

If you subscribe to the journal. We collect your email address and your chosen language. We use them only to send you DAR Talks updates. This is done with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time — every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us. Our newsletter is handled by Buttondown.

If you write to us through the contact form. We collect your name, email address, optional organisation, and your message, so that we can read and reply. Messages are delivered by Resend to our mailboxes and answered by a person. We keep them only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

When you simply visit. Our site is served by Cloudflare. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first: it sets no cookies and does not fingerprint or track you across sites. Standard server logs may briefly record technical data (such as IP address) for security and reliability.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use advertising or social-media tracking pixels. We do not set non-essential cookies. We do not build profiles of visitors.

Where your data is processed

We rely on a small number of processors, each under their own privacy terms: Buttondown (newsletter), Resend (contact-form email delivery), Zoho Mail (our mailboxes), and Cloudflare (hosting, CDN, and cookieless analytics). Some of these operate outside your country, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for as long as we need them to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, then deleted or archived.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, or to withdraw consent. Email [email protected] and we will respond. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to complain to your national data-protection authority.

Survivor testimony is different

If you are a survivor wishing to share testimony, do not use the forms on this website. Testimony intake is handled off-platform, in your own language, under separate and far stricter consent and security standards. See How we document.

Security

We serve the site over HTTPS, store credentials as encrypted secrets, and limit who can access submitted data.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date above.
